Open again!
My open heart surgery with 6 bypasses was 8 weeks ago. I'm not 100% by any means, but I'm feeling well enough to get back to work more or less full-time. The challenge ahead is to get the new website up to date. We're closing in on having 150 new guitars, mandolins, and basses photographed and put on the new site. I'll be posting all 150 new instruments on this blog before they go on the website. It just makes it easier for me to keep track of everything. Suhr, Anderson, and Collings will be what I post first.
New shop is finally open in Spencer, Tennessee.
It's been nearly three years since I shut down my shop in Sarasota, Florida to make the move to Tennessee. It took six months to get power to the property. Six months I spent cutting trees, moving dirt and rock, and building a driveway. Then 18 months of building a house and garage. Then the last six months building the new shop. I've just started photography and will be working on getting the new website up and running. I have over 270 guitars, basses, and mandolins in stock. I just put six Collings electrics on Flickr with more to go. 25 or so Suhr are next. Here we go......
New shop is at :
200 Sleepy Hollow Road
Spencer, TN 38585
We are at the top of Spencer Mountain only a couple of miles off State Road 111. We are on 45 acres of forest on the bottom edge of City Lake. No signage yet, but soon.
Shop in Sarasota is permanently closed. I'm in Tennessee and building a shop.
A quick update.
I'm in Tennessee building a new shop and house on 50 acres. It was a tough winter here with temps 5 below zero over Christmas. It rained steadily for 6 days in one stretch with rain at least a couple of times a week every week since the middle of November. Makes it impossible for construction equipment to operate on the property as the ground is too soft and everyone gets stuck (three different rock haulers in one morning got stuck and it took two chained together to pull one out).
I brought 240 guitars with me and they are in climate controlled storage. I've had about 50 shipped to me here and I'll post a list of what has come in on the "New Arrivals" in the next few days. I am accepting orders and shipping guitars. I'm not set up for photography yet.
My webmaster was in an accident in November and informed me a couple of weeks ago that she will be unable to work and I should find someone else to take over the website. I'm actively doing that now.
